Dabis had not yet turned 20 when his cartoons appeared in national newspapers. In 1918, in the weekly newspaper Színházi Élet (Theatre Life), he published drawings of Béla Uitz and Iványi Grünwald in his drawings of the four Béla in Kecskemét and Csaba bcsi, nincs melege? she makes fun of Béla Uitz, Iványi Grünwald, and Csaba Vilmos Perlrott.
