Church at Pasarét (1938)

Lajos Tibai Takács's father was once an evangelical choirmaster and organist in Balassagyarmat. Tibai was a war painter in the First World War, but before and after he taught in Hatvan and Újpest. From 1926 he devoted his life to painting. He followed the New Impressionist painting trend. One of his aims was to capture the image of the old Tabán. In addition, he painted landscapes, captured the birthplaces of historical greats, and made illustrations for textbooks. He also created several portraits on commission.

The Franciscan Church of Pasarét is a significant work of modern Hungarian architecture. It has been a religious church since its foundation. The building complex consists of the church itself, the monastery and the bell tower. It was consecrated on 10 October 1934. The square next to the church - a bus terminal with small shops - was built in 1937.
