View of Tihany (1930)

Jaschik's decorative watercolour depicts a well-known view of Tihany with the church on the hill. In contrast to the usual rectangular-relief format of landscape paintings, Jaschik uses the elongated and narrow form favoured by the Art Nouveau movement. In this way, the narrative quality of the picture is emphasised, as the winding path from the shady forest to the town, the trio of a man (wanderer?) resting between the two scenes and the abbey sparkling in the light all refer literally and symbolically to the walk and spiritual journey taken.​
