From the early 1930s onwards, the surface of Jaschik's paintings became less crowded, and his graphic works and illustrations of folk tales show a strong sense of characterisation, satirical tendency and humour. He was strongly attracted to the surreal, monsters, the supernatural, and liked to illustrate fantastic works. He believed that "an artist can only be an artist who not only observes life in its external phenomena, but can also feel its inner construction."
