About

Margit Rott Csabai' masters were Ágoston Benkhard and Ferenc Frischauf Szablya at the College of Fine Arts. From 1928 she was an exhibiting artist. Her oil painting Gypsy Girl was shown at several exhibitions in the early 1930s. 'Of all the painters, Margit Rott Csabai is the most colourful and painterly personality, showing with her pastose treatment of colour and good drawing qualities some very fine landscapes, still lifes and figural studies. Her paintings Fisherman's Barques on the Sió and Gypsy Girl are particularly outstanding', wrote the Pesti Hírlap about the exhibition at the Fine Arts Salon in 1932.
