Erzsébet Csöre was mainly known for her expressionist woodcuts, but she also painted oil paintings. Csöre depicts the crowded fair scene imaginatively, with a colourful crowd bustling along the road leading out of the village, while the foreground and middle ground show a scene of scenes from the fair: women haggling, young people happily drunk and blowing horns, and a couple in love with a fairground gingerbread heart.
