Signed bottom right: Járitz 1917.
In 1917, Józsa Járitz spent the summer at the artist colony in Kecskemét (where her roommate was her friend, Franciska Pál), and during the other months of the year she studied at Oszkár Glatz's school. Her first important exhibition was in 1922 at the Ernst Museum, where the Daydreaming was also exhibited under the title Female Figure in Green Dress (Lot 78). The painting decorated the wall of Járitz's apartment for a while, which can also be seen in the photo.
