About

János Tábor studied at the College of Applied Arts and the College of Fine Arts under Lajos Márk, Aladár Körösfői-Kriesch and Ignác Ujházy. He was a member of the Association of Spiritual Artists. Jenő Remsey, a prominent member of the group, wrote that spiritual art "has as its banner: eternal faith, eternal life, and it is faith that nourishes it, which has been and will be the basis of all great art, of all great human endeavours!" The Girl with a Bush was presumably exhibited under the title Spring at the National Salon of Spiritual Artists. The flower in the woman's hand symbolizes youth and renewal.
