Biography

Antal Dióssy was a painter, graphic artist, illustrator, tapestry designer. He graduated from the Budapest School of Applied Arts in 1914, then trained at the College of Fine Arts. His master was Aladár Körösfői Kriesch. His work was recognized with numerous domestic and international awards. . In 1937, he received the Grand Prix at the Paris World Exhibition, in 1939 in New York, and in 1940 at an international exhibition in Milan. He worked in Transylvania between 1922-1927, and then in Budapest.  He created frescoes with his master in the church in Zebegény, in 1929 at the Parliament Building, and in 1938 at the Kálvária Chapel in Kőbánya.
