A characteristic feature of Mária Undi's art is the synthetic artistic idea, the desire to create a "Gesamtkunstwerk", which was also a preoccupation of the artists of the Gödöllő Artists' Colony. In 1913 he worked at the free school in Nagybánya. In her portraits of this period, she mainly used uniform patches of colour enclosed in thick contours, often with the human figure emerging from a green background.
