About

Járitz's first solo exhibition was held in 1922 at the National Salon. From 1924 she lived in Paris for seven years, where she supported herself mainly by teaching dance. Among her students was Piet Mondrian. It was here that she met her English patron, who provided her with regular financial support. She was a regular participant in group exhibitions at the Salon des Indépendants. Járitz saw the Paris period as the second period of her art. In 1924 she had a solo exhibition at the Galerie Visconti. In 1925, her works were shown at the second exhibition of the KUT (New Society of Fine Artists) at the National Salon. She later exhibited in several exhibitions of the KUT (1930, 1934, 1936, 1940, 1941). In 1928 he had a solo exhibition at the Salon des Vrais Indépendants.

Her painting of this period is characterised by a reduction of lines and colours and a decorative quality. The subjects of his new paintings are landscapes, gardens, animals - lovable dogs, prancing horses, birds - and people. In the French Landscape below, Járitz builds on the various shades of green, indicating the depth of space only by placing the warmer colours (greenish-yellow foliage) in the foreground and the cooler, bluish-green colours in the background, according to the rules of aerial perspective. Járitz's contemporary paintings are typically large in scale.
