About

The stencil is a special duplicating process invented by Révész-Ferryman himself. It is similar to the monotype, it is also at the core of painting and graphics, it is painted (and/or scratched) by hand, but instead of one version, it can be duplicated in several copies. Artist Ferryman mainly depicted exotic birds, fantastic animals and ancient dances using this technique, which is very similar to Japanese woodcuts. The Toucans were exhibited in the Belvedere Salon in 1923 at the Révész-Ferryman collection exhibition.
