Biography

Ungváry completed his studies at the Budapest School of Pattern Drawing. His masters were Bertalan Székely and Ede Balló. In 1938, the decoration of the tapestry depicting Hungarian saints covering the tribune and altar of the Eucharistic Congress was realized according to his plans. In 1927, he created the ceiling paintings of the Franciscan Church in Eger, the murals of the small church in Városmajor, and in 1936–37, the ceiling paintings of the St. Anna Church in Debrecen, as well as the Sacred Heart altarpiece. He also worked on the murals of the Franciscan Church in Gyöngyös.
