Thomas Bodnár

Biography

Thomas Bodnar was a painter and etcher, born in Hungary, and emigrated to New York before the first world war. Little has been discovered about his oeuvre. According to Who Was Who in American Art, he attended the Art Students League of New York City, which was established in 1875 and was one of the country’s preeminent art schools. Bodnar’s teachers were Bridgman (probably George Brandt Bridgman) and Young. He lived in Brooklyn and was member of the Salons of Independent Artists and the Brooklyn Society of Artists. His works were exhibited in the Salons of Independent Artists.
