Biography

He studied painting in Munich, Nagybánya and Paris. His first exhibition was in 1904. painted mainly figurative interiors, still lifes and landscapes, at first under the influence of Pissarro, later Cézanne. Member of the KÚT. He lived for years in Nuremberg and also worked in restoration. In 1910 he had a collective exhibition at the Kunsthaus in Budapest, in 1918 he had his own exhibition in Budapest, in 1928 at the Ernst Museum and in 1933 at the Frankel Salon. By 1933 he had returned from Germany and founded the Kunsthalle, an exhibition space to help artists in difficulty.
