Biography
Self-taught. Between 1968 and 1971, he studied at the István Ferenczy Free School of Fine Arts, teacher: Lajos Luzsicza; role models: Gyula Derkovits, József Egry, Lajos Vajda. Painter restorer at the Hungarian National Gallery.
Ganczaugh's painting is an art imbued with spiritual charge. His paintings and drawings - although they are far from didactic illustrative - also have a Christian theme based on their titles: Crucifixion, Veronika's Shroud, Genesis, Golgotha, etc. Primitive, powerful expressiveness, elemental power characterizes both his use of color and his very deeply experienced, vivid, clear (but not primarily figurative) visual expression, alive with pure spirituality.
